The Film Censorship Agency operates based on laws and regulations
as the legal foundation for carrying out its duties and functions.
The following is a list of regulations that serve as the legal basis for its operations.

Law No. 33 of 2009

Regulates the obligation for every film and film advertisement to obtain a Film Censorship Certificate (STLS) from LSF before being distributed or screened.

Government Regulation No. 18 of 2014

Establishes LSF as a permanent and independent institution, with the main duty of censoring films and reporting to the President through the Minister.

Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 14 of 2019

Regulates censorship guidelines, audience age classification, and the withdrawal of films from circulation.
